Dear Frankie

Dear Frankie,

Why are you trying to send Mommy to the Cuckoo's Nest? Why? Mommy loves you. Mommy does everything for you. How can it be that you are the happiest kid EVER until it is naptime or bedtime? Yes, I know I am totally awesome and you don't want me to leave your room, but YOU have to sleep so I can sleep. That way I can continue my awesomeness. (I don't care if that's not a real word--I'm tired).

Really, honey--there is no reason for all this crying and drama. When they say "Save the drama for your Mama," understand this--they don't mean me.

You're tired. You need to sleep. (Can you try to sleep past 6:00 am while you're at it? That is just wrong to get up that early...why did you trade in 7:00 for 6:00? 7:00 was really way better).

I promise, you're not going to miss anything while you sleep. All I'm going to do is clean up all the messes you have made and get some work done because your expensive taste is putting Mommy in the poor house.

Thanks for the freebie last Sunday when we got home from Camp and you slept all night. Your four legged brother, however, decided that would be a fine night to wake me several times by throwing up all the food he consumed by way of his dumpster diving antics. If I never see corn again, it will be too soon. I was seeing it from both sides of you two for three days. THANKS.

Here is a bedtime lullaby for you:

It's time for bed, sleepy head
Daddy's not here, so please be a dear
And go to sleep, don't make a peep
There's no need to cry, I promise that I
Will check on you, at least one or two
Times in the night, so please don't fight
The sleep in your eyes, try and try
To save the crying and the screaming for when we get to camp and Daddy is there to deal with it!!!

Love, Mommy

Frankie,

Don't listen to your mom. I've been around this block and, guess what, they are legally obligated to keep the services flowing! You can do whatever you want and the food, entertainment, laundry service, etc never stop. They talk a big game, but they can't back it up.

Enjoy!

The dress? Old Navy. "It's not the brand, it's the way you wear it," Fin tells me. Click on the picture to enlarge it and check out the shoes. They were the reason we had to wear that dress. She was leaving PK in those shoes or nothing.

i love your blog! what a great sense of humor you have! oh and mother to mother, i always found that really really loud music drowned out the crying...not unlike when i would play really really loud music to drown out my parents' crying in frustration when we were teenagers! :-) maybe that's where the idea came from...hmmm...
keep it up!
